What I noticed that I do is I work out for awhile and then it gets kinda boring, so then I challenge myself and I set my incline 1% each minute higher and higher. At first its easy and then you start feeling the burn and your heart rate goes up. I'm not running just yet, so the incline helps me get my heart rate up and break a sweat. My body is used to standing and walking all day, so in order to push myself, I need to walk faster and walk with a challenge. So today, I got all the way up to 15% which is the highest. Another thing I did, is when I started feeling my legs get like spaghetti from the incline, I would lower it to the normal height and walk for 5 minutes at a faster speed and then when I was ready, felt strong, I raised it up to about 10% and walked it, until I couldn't anymore and lowered it. I did that about 3 or 4 times and whats awesome about that, is that when I would push myself to a healthy point and I lowered it and I calmed myself back to normal and repeated, it actually motivated me more to stay and work harder and longer.
I think sometimes we start off by pushing ourselves to the max and we get burned out and uncomfortably sore right off the bat, which in turn really doesn't motivate (me at least) to go back or I take days off until the burn is gone. Yesterday was my first workout and I just simply walked, sometimes on a small incline, but just walked for 30 minutes. To be honest yesterday, I remember looking at the clock and it was 10 minutes into the workout and I thought it was so much longer and actually was wondering if I was going to make it to 30 minutes. I did....I think a little over, but I walked away and THAT'S OKAY!!!!
Today, I said I was going to do 30 minutes and when I reached the 30 minutes, a song came on that pumped me up on Pandora to keep going. I don't know if anyone noticed me, but I was like beating on the sides of my legs to the music, because I listen to Dance Techno music. I also sometimes would hold the sides and beat on them with my fingers. I love beats.....I love pop n lock dancing....if you really know me, you will be see me popping all the time to NOTHING, lol. I make beats with my mouth and pop to it.....I know.....I'm a weirdo!!!
Anyways......When I got off the treadmill...I wont lie and say that my legs felt like Spaghetti, but I knew that was okay and it was good. When I woke up this morning, I could feel where I worked out on my legs. I wasn't too sore and it went away throughout the day. I was walking out of the gym today and one of the workers asked me for my phone number. I was flattered!!!! But it got me to thinking......so when I dress down and all red and sweaty I get my number asked? but when I'm all dressed up nice and cute, I don't usually???? hmmm.....I don't know....
So for food wise today I had
leftover salad for lunch and for dinner
and a veggie burger for lunch and for dinner.
Orange Juice and Water
I didn't eat breakfast, cause, well, I was asleep and I know that's bad....but I know this isn't going to be a perfect road to weight loss!!!
So for pictures for today, I want to show you what I looked like after workout, cause my friend wanted a dang picture and wouldn't give up....lol
My face because I didn't want to take a pic |
Then my face to what I want to look like....JUST KIDDING!! :) |
